  1. Why choose 'The Birmingham Course' for my revision for the MRCPsych exams?

    The Birmingham Course is the ORIGINAL evidenced based revision course. Our Question bank has been collated over the last six years and has all of the remembered questions from the college exams. The question bank of 3500 is the largest question bank and is constantly growing. Each question has a detailed answer and reference. All our references reflect the current knowledge base. Our course notes are the comprehensive and updated revision material available for MRCPsych exam revision.

  2. Are the course materials updated after each sitting of the exams?

    Yes. At the Birmingham Course, after each exam sitting of the exam we meet and celebrate the questions which we predicted and that came up in our course and then look seriously at the new questions and add those and similar questions to our course question bank.

  3. How to create an account with The Birmingham Course Online?

    On the left side of your browser, Click on Apply, which takes you to a sign-up page. On this page, you will need to choose membership type, i.e., which course you would want to book. If you are just browsing, then choose 'The Birmingham Course Online (Free)', then enter your Name, Email address, choose a userID and password. Once you have done this, you can then enter the site. This is absolutely free and provides you with an account for booking a course in the future.

  4. How do I book a course?

    • On the homepage, log-in with your username and password to enter the site.(For information on how to create this see 3)

    • Click on 'Members Area' found on top of the browser

    • You will be able to check your current subscriptions, Change passwords, and book online courses & Mock exams.

    • Use the drop-down menu next to 'Membership type' to choose the course you want to book.

    • Click on 'Order' -

    • You will be directed to the PayPal site (which is a SSL secure site), where you can complete the payment for the course. Alternatively, you can also pay by cheque / Bank draft

    • Once you have made the payment, you will automatically be redirected to the Birmingham Course Online site for you to immediately access the Online courses / Mock exams
  5. Do I have to use Paypal to make a payment?

    PayPal is one of the easiest ways to make a payment to gain immediate access to the Online courses. Alternatively you can make a payment by Cheque addressed to 'The Birmingham Course limited' and send it to the address provided : On receipt of payment, you will be provided with access to the online course. Make sure that you write your name and course applied for on the back of the cheques.

  6. How long are the courses valid for?

    When you book the online courses, you book for specific durations of access (1 month, 2 months , 4 months or 6 months). This time period is calculated from the time you paid for the online courses. A day before your subscription ends, you will be sent a reminder with the option of renewing your subscription if you still require it.

  7. What courses are currently available?

    The Online courses available are Paper I, Paper II & Paper III Online courses. Each can be purchased as 1, 2 or 4-month subscriptions Paper I Online course - 1 m (£69.99), 2 m (£99.99), 4 m (£149.99), 6 m (£179.99).

  8. I have forgotten / lost my password?

    If you have lost or forgotten your password or username, click on 'Lost Password' at the top of the browser. The Course Control panel will open, where you can type your username or email address under the lost password sign. An email containing your username and a link to rest your password will be sent to you immediately. Clicking on the link will allow you to reset your password, and log-in to the site.

  9. I have a question which is not covered here, what should I do?

    We aim to answer any queries within 24 hours, and will help resolve any matter as soon as we can.

  10. We provide a lot of personal details including emails while registering for the courses. Are these personal details safe to be provided to you?

    We take data protection seriously. We ensure that your personal details will not be misused by us, and will not be provided to anyone else. If you have registered for a course, we will send emails about that course via email. Sometimes we send out emails from our online courses to inform you about any changes or to answer your queries. When you register for the online course, you can opt-out of receiving those emails; and you can opt-out anytime afterwards by altering your profile. Any emails we send from the online website will always contain the opt-out link.

  11. I want to make suggestions for improvement or make a complaint about any aspect of the course?

    We have built a reputation for being friendly, flexible and accommodating and we are quite proud of this. Please feel free to contact us through the course administrators if you have any concern / complaint / suggestion. We will address any issue you may have as soon as possible. We understand the considerable anxiety that exams cause and we will do everything we can to help. Just Ask!

  12. How can I get involved?

    In the past students from our course have won the College’s Laughlin prize ( 2in the last 3 years!) and they have been invited back to teach. You don’t have to win a prize though- if you have the time and would like to contribute to psychiatric education we would appreciate it if you would send any questions from College exams and elsewhere that you think might be useful. From time to time vacancies in our teaching and writing group come up and we will make contact with people who have shown interest.
